Q : Why would I want a Prepaid Visa® Card instead of a credit card?
A : A Prepaid Visa® Card allows the Cardholder to manage their money more efficiently by only spending the money available in their account, thereby avoiding the tendency to overspend. A credit card allows people to spend the credit card issuer's money, up to the credit limit that has been set for them, and repay it at a later date. The credit card issuer charges interest each month on the outstanding balance. Many consumers find this convenient, but find it difficult to make the payments when the bill is received, and therefore can find themselves with unmanageable debt very quickly. With the Prepaid Visa® Card, you spend only the money you have deposited for use.

Q : I have activated my Prepaid Visa® Card and I have money in my account, why can’t I use my card?
A : You must have enough money in your account to cover the purchase or withdrawal you are attempting to make. If not, you will be denied and the transaction will not be processed.

Q : I had enough money in my account to cover a purchase, but was still denied. Why?
A : Unless you checked your balance prior to attempting to make your purchase, it is possible that a service charge or other fee may have been applied prior to your most recent purchase, which would decrease the balance available to you. If you recently used the card to make a gas purchase, hotel or car rental, there may be a "hold" balance pending. These holds are usually cleared within 24 hours of the purchase. This is a Visa® regulation for these types of businesses.

Q : Can I order additional cards for my family?
A : Card accounts are held individually. As a Primary Cardholder, if you desire to have one of your family members or another individual on an account for which you are responsible, they would be called a Sub-account Cardholder. In this case, as the Primary Cardholder you can access their account and place restrictions on their account, such as setting dollar limits on transactions. You and the Sub-account Cardholder must complete an application, and you are responsible for ALL activity that takes place on that card. These cards are typically used for teenagers under the age of 18 and/or away from home for any reason.
